all black fashion tips for summer
1
Selecting a lightweight, breathable fabric is the main key to transition any style to withstand the inevitable amount of sweating we all experience during this season. Fabrics to reach for include natural cotton linen, moisture-wicking polyester, or a newer fabric called Tencel, which is a blend of Lyocell and Modal cellulose fabrics.

With the increased sweating this Season comes increased laundering. To keep your black garments from fading, it’s important to use a laundry detergent made for dark colors. The detergent is formulated to help keep the dyes from lifting from the fabrics. If some of your garments are already looking more grey than black, you can easily re-dye some garments with black fabric dye. Always test a small spot before applying to the whole garments and be sure to select a quality dye.

It goes without saying (we hope) that you should stay away wearing all-black pants and long sleeve combos/jackets in the summer months. Fall is just a hop, skip and a jump away so save those combos for September, at the earliest. You’ll not only look out of place, but FEEL out of sorts (copious amounts of sweating) in an all-black, literal head to toe look. Instead, opt for shorts, skirts, capris, short sleeves, sleeveless shirts, bodysuits, etc. That being said, you can certainly wear long pants in the summer but, as stated above, choose lightweight and breathable fabrics and pair these with a lightweight t-shirt or bodysuit. Balance your look when opting for length – pair pants with a short sleeve top option and, likewise; pair a long sleeve shirt or button down with a smart pair of shorts.
